How could it be any better than this?

I don't know why, but today feels a little hard. Not like...not at all close to the past few winters hard. Just...I just had to give myself an extra tight Chuck/Ned like hug. Because...I think it's because this'll be the first major holiday since we started dating (okay, forgot the 4th of July, but we were in the same state then), and it just kind of...the winter holidays are the time you're supposed to be with loved ones. And my heart's just missing its other half a little more keenly.

At the same time...this year, for the first time in a few years, I can say I have so much to be thankful for without feeling like I'm forcing it. And that feels amazing.

My poor cat's going to probably get her guts hugged out over the weekend ^_^
