The power cord to my computer slipped as it was shutting down. Since then, blue screen of death. Mother thinks her techie friends may be able to save it, but odds are against it, especially within budget. Meaning I've most likely lost the last few things I've written, including my first kink_bingo piece.

Fan-fucking-tastic.

Yikes! But do remember, system does not necessarily equal data. Even if your lappy's OS is hosed, popping out the HD and putting it in an external chassis to talk to another comp isn't impossible. It's how I rescued stuff off a drive that claimed to be dying and bluescreened left and right in its old case. Not all hope is lost yet. Good luck for you and your techie friends.

I know. Mother has found something that *may* save the system, likely not but a chance. If not, I'm going to see about getting stuff off of it. Just a pain, really, since that means I'll likely have to start the (not even finished) piece over again due to the craptastic timing.
