First, select your ten fictional characters (from any medium) by whichever method you like best. Then answer the questions below.

1. Irving
2. Bailey/Bridge
3. Mandy
4. Lee
5. Pam
6. Ambrose
7. Dave
8. Adrian
9. Ros
10. Malorie

1. Divide the list up by even and odd. Which group of five would make a better Five Man Band (like a Power Rangers team)? Who would you slot in each position: Leader, Lancer (second-in-command), Big Guy, Smart Guy, The Chick? If you think the team would be improved by swapping one character between the even and odd groups, which ones would you switch?

Team A
Irving-Lancer. He's bright and strong. He'd make a good leader, except he doesn't want to have people's lives in his hands. Could be the whole Bailey-dying-because-he-didn't-lock-the-door thing.
Mandy-The Chick. Definitely. While she's tough when it comes to protecting her own...yeah. Mandy is such a girlie girl in the weirdest way. I swear, she'd be the Pink Ranger.^_^
Pam-Big Guy. She's a vampire. Ambrose's first 'offspring' (and his mate as well), so she's pretty damn strong.
Dave-Smart Guy. Despite not finishing high school, he's rather bright. And...it's kind of creepy that he and Mandy are on the same team, as he's her dad, and in most universes he dies when she's eight. O_O
Ros-Definitely the Leader. Even before her sisters died, and even with her brothers supposedly 'in charge' and her just 'bait', Ros is a natural born leader.

Team B
Bailey/Bridge-Lancer. He's a really good support person, and he can take the reigns when he has to.
Lee-Smart Guy. Definitely. The guy's a carpenter/architecht--defintely has him some planning skills.
Ambrose-Leader. He's the oldest, it makes the most sense.
Adrian-Big Guy. Adrian's very, very tough. The only worry would be if his power overwhelmed him and he went all batshit crazy. He and Ros really should be on the same team to prevent things like that...
Malorie-Um. By default (being the only 100% woman in the team) she'd be The Chick...but she totally hates that. I think she wants to fight Adrian for the Big Guy role.

Team B would make a MUCH better team because all the tough guys and gals are there for some reason. Oh dear god, poor Team A. I mean, you have Pam and Ros, but I think Dave and Mandy cancel that out.

If I could swap a member for each team...hmm. I'd swap Malorie and Ros. Balance things out a bit, and keep Adrian from going batshit.

2. Gender-swap 2, 8 & 10. Which character would have the most change in their story arc? Which the least? Would any of these characters have to have a complete personality change to be believable as the opposite sex?

2. Bailey/Bridge...hilarous, because in the STORY Bridge is FTM transgendered (reincarnated-Bailey was male) so...definitely the least change and no personality change, really, because what change there is is him settling into himself.
8. Adrian-Adrian's arc would change the most, since Ros isn't a lesbian. That and all the kids he had with those women who died. So...yeah. Wow, that would be weird. I don't think his personality would change, though. He's a very good balance of yin/yang (anima/animus, whatever).
10. Malorie. I think Malorie would deal pretty well with being a man. Um. It would change her story, probably a lot. Her career (BDSM erotica) probably wouldn't have taken off in the same way. But she's got a very male view (not in a sexist way) of the world, so she'd handle it.

3. Compare the matchups of 1 & 8 and 5 & 9. (Ignore canon sexual preferences for the moment.) Which couple would be more compatible? Which couple would be more plausible to people from either principal's home culture?

Irving and Adrian-Definitely the most compatible. For one, Irving's canonicly gay and I think Adrian is heteroflexible. Also, their personalities are well matched. They're both very bright and driven, a little bitter and a little sweet. Culture...nngh. Irving was born in the '20s (died in 1951) in England. Not so much love for teh gays. Adrian's culture...well, due to Ros' race killing them off left and right, there really IS no Sanguere culture. But because of the killing off, same sex coupling isn't encouraged.
Pam and Ros-Oh Lord. This would be absoultely hilarious and horrifying at the same time. I believe Pam dabbled in some same-sex stuff when she was younger. But...their personalities would clash. Pam is a real free-spirit, Ros is much more reserved. Ros is also a lot more serious given what her family does for a living. Pam, despite all that she went through, is very romantic. Ros isn't. She wasn't raised to believe in love. Just breeding to preserve the family line. Pam really has no culture outside of drug culture, so it doesn't matter for her. Ros' culture would cast her out (not like they don't do that already....)

4. Your team is 3, 4 & 9. The mission consists of a social challenge, a mental challenge and a physical challenge. Which team member do you assign to each challenge?
Mandy-Definitely social. She's a bit of a social butterfly--despite being picked on in school and abused by family, she really does love chatting people up once she'd acclimated.
Lee-Mental. Only because Ros refuses to take anything but...
Ros-Physical. She's bred for it.

5. 7 becomes 1's boss for a week in some plausible fashion. How's their working relationship?
Dave and Irving? Actually...that'd work pretty well. Irving worked in an office, and he responds well to direction. Dave isn't a natural leader, but with an employee like Irving he could definitely do it.

6. 2 finds him/her/itself inserted into 6's continuity. As far as anyone other than 2 or 6 is concerned, they've always been there. What role would 2 be presumed to have had in 6's story, and could they fit in without going wonky?
Bailey/Bridge and Ambrose...huh. Weeel...depending on *when* you place it, Bailey-as-Bridge would be in his teens, possibly transitioned. If we're assuming Irving's there too...it would work without going wonky. I'm pretty sure Ambrose could be convinced to turn Bailey, after Irving has become flesh again, so that the two of them could be together forever. It'd actually be really sweet.

7. 3 and 5 get three wishes. The catch is that they have to agree on all three wishes before they get the benefits of any of them. What three wishes would they make?
Mandy and Pam. Huh. Ya know, once she has Ambrose, Pam doesn't care about much.. But letseee...
1. Dave somehow comes back to life. Pam's a vampire, she can deal with any consequences caused by bringing the dead back.
2. Ambrose's crazy ex goes the fuck away. Mandy knows what stalkers are like.
3. Hmm...I think they'd both ask for some kind of peace involving what happened before they met their mates.

8. 1 and 2 are brainwashed by a one-time artifact that works even on people immune to mind control to attack and kill 4. They keep their normal personality, skills and competence level, except any Code vs. Killing has been turned off. Can 4 survive? How?
Irving and Bailey/Bridge v. Lee...hmm. Really, they're pretty evenly matched. Damn. Uh. I think he'd probably live, he's got enough skill to balance out the fact Bailey is more toned than him and Irving's a bit more graceful.

9. 6, 7, 9 & 10 must help an orphanage full of small and depressed children have a merry Christmas. Who does what, knowing that at the very least the kids will be expecting a visit from Santa?
Amborse, Dave, Ros, Malorie.
Dave is so Santa. The man was for all practical purposes a single dad with a little girl he worshipped. It wouldn't matter that he's skinnier than a fence pole.
Malorie would bake cookies and probably play with the kids. She's got a handful of nieces and nephews, she likes that stuff.
Ambrose would tell stories. He's got a good voice for things like that.
Ros...would keep everything organized. Wrap presents and such. Before Zera's born, she's baaad with kids.

10. 3 and 8 are challenged to circumnavigate the Earth in eighty days or less, using only forms of transportation invented before 1900. Can they do it, or will they be fatally distracted by sidequests or their own personality conflicts?
Mandy and Adrian...hmm. I think they'd find a way. If nothing else, Mandy would just ask Ken for help or Adrian would use one of his powers. They're both focused enough and I don't see drama rising between them. They're both the 'wake up, survive, go back to bed' types.
