axesladeNicole Kidman set to play transwoman
I'm really not sure how I feel about this. I mean, I LOVE Nicole. I think she's gorgeous and I'm sure she'll approach the role with respect. But...
I think my issue is with bio women playing transwomen. I loved Transamerica. But...I think Boys Don't Cry was better mainly because a transman was played by a bio woman. Yes, transmen are real men, just as transwomen are real women. But...there's something different there. And I don't see why Hollywood has an issue with bio men playing transwomen, esp. pre-op transwomen.
*sigh*I'll see it. But I'll probably be grumbling a bit.
