Not going back there
Aug. 8th, 2008 05:59 pmLesbian avoids deportation to Jamaica
Scared to go back to my origin,
fearing the ultimate sentence, an
early grave.
. . .
Yet my freedom of expression poses
as lethal.
Give me liberty or give me death.
Though I'm not ready to die for
being me yet.
The story is inspring to a point...but since when has it been safer to be GLBT in the US? All right, if you live in San Fran., NYC, etc., there's a level of acceptantce. And it's gaining elsewhere.
But...what happened to Matthew, Brandon, Angie, Gwen...
We have to remember that we're not as free as we are told we are. We can't be sheeple who just stay here and put up with it because, well, 'it could be worse'.
