axeslade: (queen of wands future will eat me)
Around...well, I didn't have my eyes so I couldn't see the time clearly, but I think it was somewhere between 11 and 1...I woke up because of this really fucked up dream. I could go over every really weird detail, but the main point was that some crazy bitch wanted to kill me. And I knew the entire time that it was a dream and tried to wake myself up, but couldn't.

It sucked because afterwards...well, first seeing what approx. time it was, and then my heart was racing and a tiny part of me actually considered turning on my computer and e-mailing Bri even though I knew she wouldn't be up.

First nightmare I've had here...and it really made me feel like crap. *sigh*

And I'm up before my alarm again, though not by terribly much this time.

My last class was cancelled, wooot!

Something I'm going to try to impliment starting tonight: I'm going to TRY to write for a whole hour, from 7 to 8 (except Fridays, as that's anime club). If I have an idea ready for an existing piece, great. If not...I'm just going to try to get the juices flowing. I just think the girls got lazy over the summer (not that I blame them, particularly for one reason they got lazy), and I need to get them back into the habit. It felt so good when I was writing every day while working on Pearlshine, I really want that feeling back..

Some "highlights" from the GOP platform.

Same-sex marriage: "Because our children's future is best preserved within the traditional understanding of marriage, we call for a constitutional amendment that fully protects marriage as a union of a man and a woman, so that judges cannot make other arrangements equivalent to it. In the absence of a national amendment, we support the right of the people of the various states to affirm traditional marriage through state initiatives."

And if the people of a state, the majority anyway, are okay with gay marriage...?

A constitutional amendment banning all abortion even in the matter of rape, incest or a threat to the life of a woman: "We support a human life amendment to the Constitution, and we endorse legislation to make clear that the Fourteenth Amendment's protections apply to unborn children. We oppose using public revenues to promote or perform abortion and will not fund organizations which advocate it. We support the appointment of judges who respect traditional family values and the sanctity and dignity of innocent human life. At its core, abortion is a fundamental assault on the sanctity of innocent human life. Women deserve better than abortion. Every effort should be made to work with women considering abortion to enable and empower them to choose life."

Hmm...'assault on the sanctity of innocent human life'...what's rape then?

Gays in the military: "To protect our servicemen and women and ensure that America's Armed Forces remain the best in the world, we affirm the timelessness of those values, the benefits of traditional military culture, and the incompatibility of homosexuality with military service."

I won't even start on that one. It makes my brain cry.

In related news, the state of South Dakota may have lost my voter reg stuff. *sadface*. You guys have no idea how much that pisses me off. I think it's their way of keeping Obama from getting another vote ^_^

Note to self: Listening to Drive while e-mailing Bri? Not a good idea.

*bites lip*

Could everyone send positive vibes for one of my friends? I won't say the circumstances, but they're very much needed.
