I found where my copy of Stanyan Street & Other Sorrows got to, yippie! I must buy a bigger copy, this one's way too easy to lose. In celebration...

COMFORT

If we could do it all again
motor bike through roman cities
in the rain
watch the cats chase lizards in the forum
and drink bad wine from mouth to mouth
I probably would try
to love you harder than I did
I probably would smile a smile
much better than the ones you knew
for I was just rehearsing then
imagining what easily might happen
in years to come

it is not just you I love
(or even Roman rain)
or all the times you rattled on my window
after twelve o'clock.

I love the smell of rooms-
where you have been
the foreign touch of things I never knew
until you came along.

I even love your enemies
becaue they drive you to my arms
for comfort.

Oooh, forgot, as of last night we have a new bunny. Dad's pissed about that, and I wish mom and sis (they got it at the fair) had gotten a guniea pig instead since I think I really am owed one, but whatever. Nameless is cute. And I'm listening to Gackt right now, kicking myself for not keeping a tracklisting somewhere, assuming I'd remember all the titles after four years. I have three unindentified songs on this cd, grumble. But what I know...*purr*Gackt is so talented and smexy.

Well, we got back early from the Trent Tomslin/Joe Nichols concert. Only got to see Trent's bit due to heavy rain starting just after he finished. His bit was REALLY good though. One or two songs before the end, he started by saying something like 'right about this time in my shows, I get the urge to play something by this guy, and that requires some really good whiskey', then said 'I don't care that you paid for these seats, if you don't stand up and give this guy some respect, you can kiss my ass'. At that poing I was thinking 'Oh please be Johnny Cash...' and then I heard the intro to Folsom Prison Blues and squealed. After he finished, he said 'if you don't like Johnny Cash, you can kiss my ass' and 'note to self, no matter what else happens, play Johnny Cash and everything else in life will fall into place'. Then the rain started. So, in return for not seeing Joe Nicholes, mom called into some radio show and requested Joe's 'Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off' which should be playing in a few minutes.
