Well, over the past two days I've seen The Aviator and House of Flying Daggers Loved both. If you haven't seen Flying Daggers but have seen Mouin Rouge...take the end of that and mulitiply the sadness factor by at least then. I was almost crying.

The chick is sick and will probably die =(

Chapter 2
April 5, 1974-6:30 AM

When James woke up that morning, someone was throwing something against the window and Mandy was already up and dressed. He sat up, rubbing his eyes.
“Who is it luv?”
Instead of answering, she opened the window and leaned out.
“What’re you doin’ here Soph?”
“I need to talk to you.”
“’Bout what?”
“Can I come up? Both of you need to hear this.”
Mandy sighed.
“Fine, just be quiet about it” and then she slammed the window shut, sitting back on the bed with a very angry air. James sat behind her, rubbing her shoulder.
“You all right?”
“I just wish she’d leave me alone. It’s her fault my life turned out the way it did.”
James grimaced, feeling the pain in her voice. He gently kissed her cheek, then pressed his mouth against her ear, whispering softly.
“Think about it luv. If you hadn’t ran away, we never would have met.”
She smiled weakly, turning to kiss him.
“That’s what I love about you, you always make everything better.”
He laughed, starting to kiss her back when the bedroom door opened to reveal a woman in her mid twenties with strawberry blonde hair in blue jeans and a tanktop, ooking very upset.
Mandy turned her head before the door even opened, amazed that Sophie’s smell was still so strongly imprinted on her sense.
“Make it quick Soph, I’m tired.”
Sophie dropped a bag on a chair and then leaned against Mandy’s desk.
“You shouldn’t have come back. You should have told them to come up there.”
“Why?”
Sophie let out a shuddery sigh.
“You know I’m with a pack now, right?”
“That supposed women’s lib group? Yeah.”
“Well…some of them got rowdy a few months ago and killed some guys. They might have gotten away with it if someone hadn’t torn out some organs. So…”
“There’s werewolf hunters, right?”
“Right. It’s dangerous.”
Mandy sighed.
“I don’t intend to go out during the full moon, Soph. I’m going to stay here with James.”
“Some of your realities might know. A lot of the older folk around here can see the signs, you know.”
` Mandy shook her head.
“I’ll be careful Soph. Don’t worry. James looks out for me.”
Sophie seemed a little saddened at this. She looked into Mandy’s eyes, her own green orbs watering.
“I would have, you know.”
“I didn’t want to leave you Soph. You were the one who said it was over.”
Sophie sighed.
“I was just….never mind, it’s ancient history” she picked up her bag and sorted through it, picking up a pad and pencil. She hurriedly jotted down an address and phone number, then tore the paper off and tossed it to Mandy.
“If anything happens, call or come here. They’ll keep you until things cool down.”
“Goodbye Sophie.”
Sophie bit her lip, hoisting her bag over her shoulder. Just as she was about to leave the room, she turned and looked James right in the eye.
“Take good care of her” and before James could answer, she walked out.

11:30 PM

That night, after the rest of the family was asleep, James and Mandy walked out to the porch and sat down, his arms wrapped protectively across her chest.
“You’re a little frightened, aren’t you? About the werewolf hunters.”
Mandy sighed, leaning her head back against him.
“Of course I am. I just didn’t want to make Sophie think that I wasn’t secure around you.”
“Luv, I’m scared too.”
She shook her head, tilting her head up to capture his lips.
“Don’t be. We’ll be careful.”
“What if someone in your family finds out and we have to leave?” he brushed her hair back, seeing her ear twitch as a wolf howled. Several others joined in and he kissed her temple.
“Are they normal wolves or…”
She shook her head.
“Sophie’s pack. I envy her sometimes. She has others who understand, who know what she has to go through to live a normal life. What do I have?”
James smiled, turning slightly so he could hold her hands.
“You have me, and you have my love. That’s more than I bet Sophie can say for any of the women she’s with.”
Mandy sighed, leaning her forehead against his chest.
“You know this could put your life in danger. You can leave if you want to.”
James pulled back, appalled.
“Mandy! Why would I leave you and my child to possibly face death?” he shook his head, kissing her again.
“I’m staying. I don’t care that I’m not like you, we’re bound in other ways. We’re in this together, no matter what happens.”
Mandy smiled, kissing him tenderly and then she laid her head against his knee, closing her eyes.
