I found a place that does online GID counseling, at considerably lower rates than physical offices...
But for their trans patients, they require (assume?) you'll be wanting to go on hormones as well as surgery.
GOD FUCKING DAMMIT.
ETA: However, also found a directory of possible therapists in the area of NY where I'll be living

Also found a trans support group via this. Hrr. Might have to see if they meet any time during the summer just to look in on it. It'd be an hour's drive, but....
