axeslade: (queen of wands future will eat me)
Since I'm going to that class today, something I had forgotten about from last time I went to Comp that totally pissed me off.

We were discussing a bunch of essay's we'd read about marriage. With one of them, we somehow got onto the matter of LDRs. Not a sticky subject for me at all. And one bitch said something about how 'separate lives lead to separate partners'.

Maybe for you. Some of us? We have this thing, it's called trust and respect and the ability to keep our damn legs shut for more than a week.

...Yeah. Sorry, I didn't sleep well last night.

As I was walking out the door for class, some of the girls that were there pointed out the note on the board about the self defense class/spa night that's going on tonight. I gagged and someone laughed and I said I wasn't into girlie.

What a fucking lie.

The queen in me called me out on it as I was walking out the door. He wants to go. He wants to get his nails done and wear lipstick and be the catty, bitchy queen he is. But I told him that they wouldn't see him, but me. They'd see my breasts and they'd think I was acting properly for my gender role. And the queen hates those as much as I do, so he just pouted and said that reality is a bitch.

I know honey. I know.

You know what makes eating your lunch hard?

This

Why? Why isn't society (as a whole) enraged by this? Because it's supposed to teach our boys to be tough?

I was harassed about my orientation before I even knew I was queer. I don't know if Jaheem would have eventually realized he was gay. Or if Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover would have. We won't know, because they didn't get the chance to know. Because schools believed that 'boys will be boys'.

Why?
