Jul. 25th, 2008 07:25 pmWatched Oprah today because the episode was on intersexed indviduals. Not people like me who are emotionally/mentally intersex, but people actually born with intersex 'disorders'. One woman was completely female except for her internal anatomy, one was assigned the wrong gender at birth, and one, who I totally loved, proudly straddled the fence between genders. It was really cool that they were doing an episode on medically intersexed people, and the one expert they had noted the differences between sex and gender, which made me beam, and the diff. between sex/gender and orientation. I do wish, however, that people like me would be profiled on these things. People who pray to become physically intersexed.
It also reminded me that I still need to read Middlesex....
