Hmm. Last night I finished reading Shena MacKay's The Orchard On Fire. If you've read it and have kept up with what's been going on with me lately, you know why the end made me rather sad. Yeah...

Anyway, happy note: My birthday is exactly three weeks away. I don't feel almost sixteen.

Randomly looking up stuff, and I remembered Stellaluna, which was my FAVORITE book when I was really little, and I still love it to death. I saw my paperback copy at some point this year, but I'm considering buying the version I linked to as well as this plushie. Yeah, my little kid-ness shows up in big ways sometimes ~_^

rid_of_her reminded me of another great book from my childhood: The Fairy Rebel. The woman who wrote it is far more famous for The Indian in the Cupboard, which I actually never read, but I think she should have a fan base due to this. Such a sweet, original little book. (Note: I HATE the cover they have for the one on amazon! Mine is so much sweeter....this one looks so icky and dark, mine's innocence personified)
