Now, I know a lot of people try to find 'really deep thoughts' in Tori's lyrics, researching each little word and reading every interview to understand the most 'literary' meaning of the lines. Me, usually unless I really don't get the song I won't research. I take what I get from it at the surface or how I feel when I hear it and leave it at that. All art is at once surface and symbol.
Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril.
Those who read the symbol do so at their peril.
It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors.
Diversity of opinion about a work of art shows that the work is new, complex, and vital.
