well, dad rented closer but when he and mum screened it they decided I couldn't see it. the painters stopped in. I left my civics book at home. Mum was late picking me up. Daylight savings screwed up my schedule with Char. The latest zip of DH caps seems to be corrupeted. all in all I'm not real happy. But I do have two new fics

~She'll swallow a billion seeds to protect this little girl~-Tori Amos, on the narrative voice of her song 'Playboy Mommy'

London, 1967 The Sombrero Club, June 10 8:30 P.M

"Slow night."
"Mmm" Mandy twirled her finger in her drink, sighing.
"Ten minutes then I'm leaving."
"Why?"
"That's when the sitter gets off."
Jack sighed.
"You really are too young for all this, doll."
"I know I am, but now that I've got it, what choice do I have?"
"Don't you have some realitives here who could..."
She swallowed the last shot, sighing.
"I've been thinking about it. I just...the thought of giving them up is so scary Jack. Even if their father's an ass, they're a part of me. They're my babies. Even just giving them up to my aunt, even if I see them a lot...it's not the same as waking up one of them crawling on me telling me they're hungry, having that sweet little kid smell all over me..."
"You're drunk" Jack took the glass away.
"Go, spend the last ten minutes trying to find something to drive you home."
She smiled weakly and wandered through the crowd, looking at all the men and women. It had been six months since Candi had broken up with her on the grounds that she was 'too young' and needed to 'grow up'. Didn't having two children prove she was grown up? Anyway, half a year and she still hadn't found a way to move on. She was beginning to wonder if she'd ever find someone to hold her like Candi had, make it all feel simple and easy and right.
"Hey sweet thing, buy you a drink?"
"Piss off ya wank" she sneered, loving how the British vulgarity slipped off her tongue. She heard a male laugh and turned around. She felt her breath leave her. There, standing in front of her, was the most beautiful man she had ever seen. Screw Micheal, this guy made him look like trailer trash.
"I like how you handled that prick. Most girls would have just walked away and left him to try again."
She shrugged shyly.
"...What's your name?"
"Oh where are my manners? James Worthington. And you are...?"
"Mandy. Just Mandy for now."
"Really? I'd expect with a face like that you'd at least be engaged."
She smiled.
"I'm tied up in other things at the moment...say, how old are you?"
"At the risk of sounding like I'm being a complete fake...seventeen."
"Nineteen."
"Wow, an older woman, what luck."
She snorted.
"Already I want to smack you."
"Go ahead, you won't be the first girl to do it."
She smiled, glancing at her watch.
"Oh shite...I've gotta go. Do you have a pen? Oh never mind" she reached into her purse, pulling out an eye pencil. She grabbed his hand and scribbled a number on it.
"Call me, okay? Just not before six, not after nine."
"Okay. I'll be seeing you then, right?"
"Right!" she smiled and walked out.

"Mommy!" Emily wriggled from her babysitter's arms, toddling towards Mandy. Mandy laughed and knelt down, catching her daughter and picking her up, grinning.
"Hey angel. What're you doing up?"
"Kiki said we could."
Mandy looked at Kiki, who just shrugged.
"They wouldn't go to bed until they said goodnight to you."
Mandy smiled tiredly, kissing her daughter's forehead.
"Where's Alex?"
Kiki pointed to the sleeping bundle on the couch. Mandy smiled, reaching into her purse and handing Kiki her money.
"Thanks."
"No prob" Kiki pocketed the money and walked out. Mandy sat on the couch, running a hand down Alexis' legs.
"Alex?"
The little boy stirred and looked up with blurry eyes, which immediatly cleared when he saw his mom. He sat up, letting her wrap her arms around him.
"Oh my angels..." Mandy kissed their hair, sniffling a little as the idea of giving them up came to her again.
"Time for bed sweethearts."
The toddlers whimpered and complained a little bit, silencing when Mandy went past their bedroom to the 'big' one, tucking them into bed with her. As she was drifting off, Mandy heard Emily mumble something.
"Love you Mummy."
Mandy sighed, hugging her daughter close.
"Love you too baby. Want you to be happy...even if it means I'm not there."

So that was crap so far, this one is better

Disclaimer: So not mine. The ultimate AU, or pretty darned close to it. What if in the beginning of her affair with James, Mandy hadn't miscarried? Title taken from the Tori Amos song of the same name.

James snorted and flopped down in the chair after another struggle with one of the orderlies. Fucking pricks. Why couldn't they understand how worried he was about her? Just thinking about what had happened and could be happening now sent shivers down his spine. He needed to be with her, needed to make sure those bastards weren't-
"Mr. Worthington?" a middle aged woman walked out with a slight smile on her face. Not that James noticed this, he bolted upright the second he heard his name.
"Can I see her?"
"Of course" she gestured to one of the rooms and James rushed in, sliding a little on the slick floor.
"Mandy?" he said hesitantly, tiptoeing towards the bed. She looked up, smiling tiredly.
"James..." she held her hands out, wrapping them around his neck as he sat down beside her, pulling him down and kissing him.
His eyes widened and he pulled back slowly, rubbing her neck.
"I...I take it then...I mean, is the...the.."
She smiled, squeezing his fingers gently.
"The baby's fine James. A little shaken, but otherwise fine."
James swallowed, the image of Mandy laying in her blood crying in pain coming back to him with a disturbing pain. A few tears fell from his face and he hesitantly reached a hand out, hovering above Mandy until she rolled her eyes and grabbed his wrist, pressing their palms gently against her stomach.
"Love you James" she whispered as she closed her eyes. James smiled tearfully, leaning down to kiss her cheek as she drifted off.
"Love you too Mand."
